Can they really be used outside? What about rain and mud? Rugs are designed for outside use. Think plastic spagetti. They don't absorb mud or other debris and will not hold stains either.

 
 Can they be washed in bleach? How do I clean them? The mats are meant to be washed off with a garden hose; you may use gentle detergent on it but do not use bleach. While the threads full colors and not dyed, bleach is very hard on all materials plastic or natural, and a very toxic chemical to wash into any drain or lawn drainage.

 
How do they hold up in the sun? Rugs are specifically designed to be out in the sun. In direct sun, you can bet on a good 2 seasons with one rug. In the shade, you can bet on 3 to 4 years easily.
